Disney is retheming Soarin’ to Soarin’ Over the Middle East. On this new ride, guests will fly over Israel, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and more countries.
It will include voiceover commentary on the countries instead of a musical soundtrack. This new Soarin’ ride will be more of a learning experience with this retheme. The idea behind this change is to teach people more about the Middle East.
For example, they will talk about and show how, from the river to the sea, Palestine should be free. They will also talk about the current regimes and governments in each of these countries.
On top of that, there will be a really cool scene where American B-2 planes fly past the riders on screen. The goal of this is to help people become informed citizens about what is happening in those countries.
The ride system will remain the same; the only changes will be visual. On top of that, Disney is keeping Patrick as your chief flight attendant for the ride. According to an internal source, there will also be a special message from President Trump in the preshow.
This retheme is similar to when they changed Soarin’ Over California to Soarin’ Around the World. Overall, people are confused about why Disney would retheme such a popular ride, but are excited to see the updates.
