Disney will start serving dog inside of EPCOT. According to an official statement, “We are happy to announce the addition of some delicacies to our World Showcase menus.”
The quote goes on, “In the China Pavilion, we will start serving dog at the Lotus Blossom Cafe and Nine Dragons Restaurant. The goal is to continue to bring unique dining experiences from around the globe to visitors at EPCOT. Of course, this will be done in a culturally sensitive way.”
This news comes as a shock to many. They can’t believe that Disney would serve dog, which is considered man’s best friend. However, others point out that it’s no different than Americans eating cow, which is sacred in many cultures around the world.
It’s also a cultural thing in parts of China, even if we don’t like it in America. Despite this, PETA is all over this news and is already planning a class action lawsuit on behalf of all dog owners in the United States.
While there isn’t any legal ground to stand on, they see this as an effort to stop Disney from serving dog at EPCOT.
Meanwhile, other people are actually curious about this and want to try eating dog meat. They say it’s like trying other exotic foods like alligator, frog legs, etc.
