Disney is replacing World Showcase with the 13 colonies. This is part of an aggressive push by the Trump administration to make Disney America first.
According to an internal source, President Trump and Disney CEO Bob Iger have been discussing this change for a while, and now Disney is finally making it. The original idea for EPCOT was to be a utopian American city.
However, once Walt died, that vision went away, and it turned into a theme park focused on the world. Now, Disney is bringing it back to focus on America with the 13 colonies instead of 11 random countries.
Each original colony will have a pavilion, and guests will get to learn and experience historical things about those colonies. This will also lead to rides being rethemed like Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
France will be rethemed to Massachusetts, so Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will be changed to an exciting ride about the Boston Tea Party. Many people are excited for this change at EPCOT. World Showcase is often considered cliché and overrated.
In fact, they would rather drink around the 13 colonies instead of around the world. This is a great way to refresh EPCOT in a way that is family-friendly, teaches history, and, most importantly, fun. On top of that, it focuses back on America, the greatest country on Earth.
