Disney is adding The Bible to Spaceship Earth. They will update the beginning of the ride to reference The Bible instead of men hunting woolly mammoths.
The narration will start with, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”
For those not familiar, that is the beginning of The Bible. Then, the scene will show darkness turning to light, with a projection of God in the sky.
As you might imagine, this news has people very angry, much like when Disney announced they would open with a morning prayer, which we reported on here. People don’t want their kids indoctrinated by The Bible at Disney World.
Meanwhile, others are happy that Disney is finally bringing the truth into their parks. They are excited to hear that Disney is promoting the word of God and the creation of the world.
Outside of the beginning of Spaceship Earth, there are no plans to add other parts of the Bible to the ride. Many people are disappointed that they aren’t adding the birth of Jesus Christ to the ride as well.
