EPCOT is now an adult-only park. This means that now guests must be 18 years or older in order to enter EPCOT.
This is the first time that Disney has ever made a park for only adults. However, this is not the first time that this concept has come up for Disney. In fact, a while ago, they announced adult-only days, which we reported on here.
However, those were only on select days. EPCOT will be an adult-only park every single day from now on. The reason they are doing this is because on any given day, 80% of guests at EPCOT are adults. So the crowd there already skews old.
On top of that, many adults get out of hand drinking around the world, which is not a good sight for children. The other reason is Disney Adults continues to be a growing culture and they often have a lot of money to spend.
Disney wants to cater more to this audience and what better way to do it than to give them their own park to enjoy, free of the crying and the kids. As you might imagine, Disney adults love this concept and are excited for a child-free EPCOT.
However, many parents and families are upset and think that all Disney World parks should be for everyone. While there are a lot of adults there, there are still many attractions for kids like Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. This has started the trend #boycotepcot.
