An 80-year-old woman sold her arm just to go to Disney World. This is the tragic story of Alice Lamano.
Ever since Disney World opened in 1971, Miss Lamano had dreams of going there. However, she grew up in a single-parent household with little disposable income. She was unable to attend college and instead spent her life working at Walmart.
Each year she would keep any extra money she could and put it in her Disney Trip jar. However, she was unable to keep up with the rising cost of a Disney trip. Unfortunately, she had to retire from Walmart due to health concerns and was no longer making money.
Then, one of her family members told her about selling body parts on the black market for money. Alice felt she lived a good life and could part with one of her arms knowing this would fund her trip and give her some extra spending money.
Miss Lamano sold her entire left arm for $40,000. Not only could she go to Disney, but she was able to help out someone who needed it more than her. While many people question Alice’s move, she was able to fulfill her dream of going to Disney World and help someone else out.
Alice stated that is was absolutely worth it and she might try to go back before she dies. It certainly goes to show that Disney World does cost an arm and a leg.
