The Walt Disney Company buys Fox News for $20 billion.
According to an official statement, “Now more than ever, it’s important that people have access to accurate news. In a world full of fake news, it’s sometimes hard to determine what is real and what isn’t.”
The statement goes on to say, “We are committed to continuing the mission of Fox News of spreading the most accurate, truthful, and unbiased news in America. By combining our reach and the reach of Fox News, we can make the world a better and more truthful place.”
Disney has been trying to get into the news industry for a long time. They have finally found an opportunity to do so, by purchasing Fox News. According to an internal source, most of the programming will remain the same, but they will add everything on Fox News to Disney+ in order to further its reach.
This is a massive purchase, but not everyone is happy about it. Many people are concerned that Disney is buying Fox News. They don’t think it is truthful or unbiased as the official statement mentions. In fact, they think it’s the exact opposite.
Meanwhile, others are happy that Disney will further the truthful agenda of Fox News. They know Disney is a cultural powerhouse and they will be able to help bring the facts and truth to more Americans.
