Ron DeSantis and Disney by now are well-known for going after each other. Disney makes a move and DeSantis strikes back. His wildest moves are sending migrants to Disney World and blocking the entrances of Disney with the National Guard. He is taking every action to “win” the battle against Disney. His next action may be the boldest by running for president of the Walt Disney Company.
In election year anything can happen. The United States truly becomes the Wild West in terms of politics and actions by corporations. Everything becomes more tense. This is partially why Disney removed President Trump from the Hall of Presidents, which we reported on here. Now, former US Presidential candidate Ron DeSantis is making another wild move by running for president of the Walt Disney Company.
Ron DeSantis From US President to Disney President
This past weekend Ron DeSantis officially suspended his campaign for United States President. Many would deem this an unsuccessful campaign. He went up against Donald Trump and lost. However, Ron DeSantis appears to be resilient and is moving from one presidential campaign to another. This time, he is gunning for a spot as the president of The Walt Disney Company.
For those not familiar with the corporate structure of the Walt Disney Company, technically they don’t have a president. Instead, Bob Iger is the CEO, who is first in command. But that isn’t stopping DeSantis from running for this position. Despite his unsuccessful run for United States President, he thinks he has a good shot at creating a new position within the Walt Disney Company and winning the election for it.
It’s worth noting that typically public companies don’t have elections for their presidents. Rather it’s someone who is elevated to that position or hired for that position. Governor DeSantis understands that, but is willing to buck the trend. He believes that he can gather enough support to essentially elect him as the new President of Disney. While many say it’s a long shot, his team thinks there is a good chance of him winning.
Ron DeSantis Taking Over Disney
According to an official spokesperson, “Governor DeSantis sees an opportunity to create a new and much-needed role inside the Walt Disney Company. As president, he would bring core family values back to Disney.” In fact, his platform for becoming the President of Disney is essentially the same as the platform he ran with to become President of the United States, which was unsuccessful.
Essentially, DeSantis wants to get inside the Walt Disney Company, his archnemesis, and make a lot of changes. According to a source familiar with the matter, his top agenda items are to “drain the Disney swamp, make good movies, and cater to families and not the woke ideology.” Our source thinks that DeSantis has a decent shot at becoming president since there is no one else running for this position.
DeSantis has raised over $20 million in funding to run this new campaign for the President of Disney. The donors back him and hope that he can bring what they believe is a much-needed change to the House of the Mouse. In fact, DeSantis is ripping off Donald Trump’s famous campaign slogan with his new slogan, Make Disney Great Again. Only time will tell if this campaign is successful.
