Naked and Afraid Now Filming at Disneyland

Disney World has been home to a few TV shows. We saw this with the new Disney Wipeout style show, which will be filmed in Disney World. Meanwhile, plenty of other TV shows have had episodes at Disney World and Disneyland like Modern Family and The Middle. Now, Naked and Afraid is being filmed at Disneyland.

The Disney Parks are cultural staples in America. This makes them the perfect site for TV shows. Not only do Disney fans love to see shows filmed in their favorite parks, but it’s also a unique setting. The idea of surviving in a theme park and fending for yourself is so interesting to so many people. This is how Naked and Afraid Disneyland came to be.

Naked and Afraid: Disneyland

For those who haven’t seen Naked and Afraid, here is some context. According to IMDb, “A group of amateur survivalists are put to the ultimate test in the wild for 40 days with nothing but a few primitive tools. No food, no clothing, no water.” This is a show all about survival in harsh conditions. Usually, contestants are in some remote location with no one around. However, this time, they are in the middle of a theme park, surrounded by thousands of guests.

While this location may seem like easy mode, it’s not. First off, it’s obviously illegal to be naked inside Disneyland. So the first thing these contestants have to do is find clothing, otherwise, they are at risk of being arrested and ending their expedition. Second, they cannot just go to Disney restaurants to get food. They have to hunt for it. This means fishing in the Nemo’s Submarine Voyage lake, hunting feral cats, and more. However, they can’t hunt the Disney birds because they aren’t real, which we reported on here.

Another element is avoiding all of the homeless people who now live in Disneyland, which we reported on here. Of course one of the more brutal parts is not going insane from the music playing and other guests. Many people claim they could live at Disney World or Disneyland, but very few can. It’s one of the most mentally challenging feats of all time.

First Naked and Afraid Elimination at Disneyland

While Naked and Afraid: Disneyland is in the early stages of filming, we have already seen the first elimination. This was a man seen on it’s a small world. Guests captured video of the man trying to survive in his new environment. He was seen navigating the treacherous conditions and animatronics. However, not long after, he was seen surrendering at the end of it’s a small world. It was just too much.

According to an internal source, the man couldn’t handle the music or animatronics anymore. The crazy part is he was only there for less than a day. This just shows how relentless Disneyland can be when it comes to survival. However, it’s worth noting that starting your survival on it’s a small world might be one of the worst decisions ever made.

Upon this man’s surrender to the competition, he was seen being walked out of the park by security guards and medical staff. After evaluation, the man was deemed to be okay and released. It was a short ending to the competition for him, however, there are more contestants still locked in Disneyland, naked and afraid.
