A Mickey Mouse anime cartoon is coming to Disney+. The new series will be named Mickey: Kingdom of Dreams.

Mickey will take on a much more adventurous and action-packed role, blending traditional Disney magic with the intense, stylistic flair of Japanese anime. The series will be produced in collaboration with a renowned anime studio. It promises to reimagine Mickey’s universe.
The plot follows Mickey as a brave hero tasked with defending the mystical Kingdom of Dreams from dark forces threatening to destroy the land. Longtime friends Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and more will also appear. Each character will be reimagined with unique anime-inspired designs and abilities.
Fans are already excited about the mix of Disney nostalgia with anime’s vibrant storytelling. According to an official statement, “We wanted to take Mickey to a place he’s never been before—both literally and stylistically. The stakes are higher, the emotions deeper, but Mickey’s heart and humor remain at the core.”
Though some are skeptical about this bold new direction, many are excited to see how Disney will blend its timeless character with one of the world’s most beloved animation styles. Many people are worried that Mickey Mouse as an anime character will ruin his nostalgic appearance. However, others are hoping that anime Mickey will have meet and greets at Disney World.
