However, no one remembers it because of what happened. Disney and the US Government have done everything they can to erase this ride from memory.

Experiment 2071 was located in Tomorrowland. Riders wore virtual reality headsets that would let them see 100 years into the future. However, as soon as the ride ended, multiple people started complaining about having a headache.

Disney Cast Members assumed that people weren’t used to looking at screen so close. Throughout the day, the complaints only got worse, so Disney closed the ride after only one day of operation to evaluate the problem.

Over the next few days, hospitals around Orlando, Florida were flooded with patients experiencing severe headaches, numbness, and dizziness. The doctors realized all of these people were having strokes. There was one common thread amongst all of the patients, riding Experiment 2071.

Scientists did testing and determined that the virtual reality headsets were causing these strokes. Disney immediately closed the ride permanently and removed all traces of it. They worked with the US government to erase this ride from memory.

In fact, very few photos of Experiment 2071 still remain today. This was the most deadly theme park accident ever.
