Disney removes controversial racial slur from a ride. The clip below is from Runaway Railway where Goofy allegedly uses a racial slur.

This single line has created a ton of controversy, even forcing a temporary closure of the ride, which we reported on here. In fact, the NAACP even filed a discrimination lawsuit over this. Because of all of the controversy around this word, Disney has decided to remove this line from the ride altogether.

For the time being, Goofy will not say anything. However, Disney is working to update the line to be more family-friendly and inclusive. According to an internal source, the new line will be “Hyuck off, I told you nothing was gonna go wrong”.

However, so far people are not reacting well to this line. They think it is better than a racial slur, however, it still feels inappropriate for families. From Disney’s perspective, this line is on brand with Goofy and how he talks.

People who see it as problematic is more of a reflection on that person rather than Disney. This new line will be added to the ride over the next few months. It may require the ride to be closed temporarily while Disney makes the switch.
