Monsters Inc. Land will officially open in 2038. An internal report has just confirmed the opening date of the new land at Hollywood Studios.
They will open it on January 6th, 2038, as long as they don’t face any major setbacks with construction. Disney is tracking for an aggressive timeline on this one, as they know that this is going to be one of their most popular lands in all of their parks.
However, due to the number of rides, restaurants, and shops, this project is going to take 12 years to complete. This is no surprise, as building Tron Lightcycle Power Run took nearly 10 years, and that was a carbon copy of a ride that already existed in Shanghai. Plus, it’s a 30-second roller coaster, so there isn’t much to the ride in general.
Overall, people are excited for the new Monsters Inc. Land to open up. Based on the concept art, it should be a really exciting land. However, many people are still upset that Muppet Vision 3D closed to make way for this area.
Our source also mentioned that this will open just before the 40th anniversary of Monsters Inc. If that doesn’t make you feel old, nothing will. By this time, we expect Monsters Inc. 2, 3, and 4 to be released in theaters. This is a very ambitious project, and hopefully, they can complete the construction of Monsters Inc. Land by 2038, so it can open on time.
