The first reason is that the job of a skipper is to tell funny jokes. Unfortunately, as we all know, women aren’t funny. So when there is a woman skipper, the ride isn’t as entertaining, fun, or funny.

This leads to a diminished guest experience on the ride. In fact, according to survey results of over 5,000 jungle cruise riders, on average, women skippers received a 4 out of 10 rating in terms of funny jokes and overall experience.

Meanwhile, men on average scored a 9 out of 10. Many people are calling this decision sexist and are mad about the statistics. However, that isn’t the only reason Disney is banning women Skippers.

The other, more obvious reason, is that they are required to drive the boat. We also all know that women, on average, are worse drivers than men. This is true for cars, but also true for Jungle Cruise boats.

Some argue that the boat is on a track, so it shouldn’t matter who is driving in. In fact, it’s so easy a monkey could do it. However, the study also shows that guests feel safer when a man is driving their boat.

Overall, people are not happy with the news that women can no longer tell jokes or drive Jungle Cruise boats. This is similar to Disney banning women from driving at the Tomorrowland Speedway, which we reported on here.
