There are a few key factors that led to the return of Splash Mountain. First, there is a lack of enthusiasm and excitement for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. In fact, many guests state the ride has no story and the music is disappointing.

Also, there continue to be many issues with the animatronics and the ride system, forcing it to be closed frequently. The uptime on the current attraction is far less than the original. Lastly, the executive order from President Trump banning DEI was the final straw for this ride.

In fact, an internal source admitted that Splash Mountain was rethemed to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure just to satisfy a DEI quota. With the executive order, Disney has decided to move on from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This is another step for Disney to no longer be woke, which we reported on here.

Luckily, Disney anticipated this happening, so most of the Splash Mountain props are still available. In fact, this is expected to be one of the fastest rethems Disney has ever done.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be closing permanently in a week and Splash Mountain will have its re-grand opening by the end of the summer. This will be an incredible turnaround and is the most exciting news for Disney fans yet. Have a zip-a-dee-doo-dah day.
