Breaking news, Disney World is closing following the Monkeypox outbreak. This makes them the first company to close their doors in the United States because of this new disease.
According to an internal source, the Monkeypox pandemic is hitting close to home and Disney wants to be prepared. In order to keep all guests and other cast members safe, Disney World has decided to close their doors indefinitely. This is very similar to when they shut down their parks due to COVID-19 back in spring of 2020.
In fact, there has been no announcement yet on how long Disney World will be closed. However, according to our source, when the parks reopen, they will follow the same guidelines from the coronavirus.
Disney World will once again require all guests to mask up inside their parks. They will also bring back the social distancing markers. On top of that, all character meet and greets will be suspended indefinitely.
The idea behind this is to reopen as soon as possible, while making their parks a safe place for everyone. The Monkeypox outbreak is another global pandemic and Disney is doing their best to get ahead of the curve on this disease.
However, many people are worried that Disney is just doing this to make significant changes to their parks. If you recall, during the lockdowns, Disney started charging for Fastpasses and took away other guest experiences. Many are worried that Disney is using this as an excuse to make changes that harm the guest experience and blame it on a disease again.
