Breaking news, Disney acquires Netflix for $500 billion. Because of this acquisition, all Netflix shows and movies will be added to Disney+ and Netflix will go away.

However, to afford this acquisition, they will triple the price of a Disney+ subscription. This initially sounds like a lot, but you are getting way more than triple the content. Also, Netflix just acquired Warner Bros., which means Disney is getting all of those movies and shows as well.

Disney now owns some of the most iconic movies of all time because of this acquisition. They now own The Wizard of Oz, The Polar Express, Battlefield Earth, and many more. This even includes the Looney Tunes, which were once Disney’s greatest competitors.
Obviously, this acquisition has some serious potential drawbacks. When Disney acquired Star Wars, they practically drove it into the ground by making bad film after bad film.
Many people are worried that Disney is going to take the Netflix and Warner Bros. top franchises and absolutely ruin them. However, others are excited that they can slowly start to consolidate their streaming services.
Many people complain that having 15 different services is a pain and expensive. This acquisition certainly has consumers at the top of mind. However, some people are raising monopoly concerns and think that the government should get involved to stop this.
