Breaking news, Disney acquires SpongeBob for $200 million. With this purchase, they will take over the show and add a Bikini Bottom themed land to Disney World.

First, the show will now be written and directed by Disney. They have put their creative team in charge of the show and will also be casting new voices for the characters.

Season 17 of SpongeBob will be the first one run by Disney and will air on Disney+ exclusively. This is to get more people to subscribe to the platform. Meanwhile, Animation Courtyard in Hollywood Studios will be rethemed to Bikini Bottom.
It will include multiple rides, shops, and two restaurants, The Krusty Krab and The Chum Bucket. As you might imagine, they will be serving Krabby Patties at Disney World.
There are very few details on the SpongeBob rides coming to Disney World. However, we know that there will be a ride themed to jelly fishing and a ride themed to Plankton trying to steal the Krabby Patty Secret Formula. They will both be moderate thrill rides, similar to Test Track.
This news is shocking the world. People are excited for Bikini Bottom at Disney World. However, they aren’t excited for Disney to take over the show and recast the characters. That will likely be one of the biggest disappointments of the year, behind the live-action Snow White.
