A woman legally married Mickey Mouse in California. Jordan Walker is the first person ever to legally marry a cartoon character.

Unsurprisingly, it happened in the weird state of California. According to the state law, marrying a cartoon character that is an animal, is totally legal, as long as both parties consent to it.

Many people are wondering why Disney would allow a woman to marry their most popular character, Mickey Mouse. According to a top lawyer, because of the laws in California, a person can legally marry any fictional character they want.
However, once a character is deemed married to another person in the state, they cannot be married again. This means that this is the only person Mickey Mouse can legally marry, unless there is a divorce, or his new wife dies.
Because of this, many people are scrambling to marry their favorite fictional characters before someone else does. In fact, there are already permits filed for people to marry Judy Hopps and Mrs. Incredible.
However, the lawyer mentioned that the marriage to Mrs. Incredible may end up in court since she is technically married to Mr. Incredible in the movies. Marrying a fictional character for now is legal in California, however, this will likely end up in the Supreme Court to determine if this is actually legal.
