President Trump implements tariffs on Disney World. Now, Disney will be required to pay the United States government additional taxes on all of their sales.
The amount they pay will be based on what category of goods things fall into. For example, the food and beverage tariff is only 5% and the tariff on merchandise is 10%. Meanwhile, the biggest tariff is 20% on Disney World tickets and hotels.
These of course are the biggest revenue drivers for Disney, thus generating the most in taxes for the US government. Why is President Trump putting tariffs on Disney World?
It’s because they have seceded from the United States, which we reported on here. Trump is using the tariffs as leverage to bring them back into the US. For now, Disney would rather pay the tariff than become part of the United States.
However, guests aren’t happy with this because Disney is currently passing the tariff off on their consumers. Disney is raising all of the prices in order to offset the tariffs that Trump has imposed on them.
People want Disney to either rejoin the United States or pay the tariff themselves. Putting it on the guests to pay the tariff is not acceptable in the minds of many people and will likely lead to boycotts. This boycott might just get Disney World back as part of the United States.
