Labubu characters are taking over at Walt Disney World. This is a brand new meet and greet experience with the hottest new plush characters.
Ever since Labubu came out, they have been a huge hit with teens and young adults. The creepy and weird-looking Hong Kong toys have taken the world by storm, and Disney is getting in on the action.
They just debuted the new characters inside their parks for a meet and greet. According to an internal source, they are also working on a Labubu stage show, which is coming soon. Disney purchased the rights to feature Labubu in their theme parks for $50 million per year.
They will also get the rights to make Labubu Disney Character collectible toys. This is not the first time Disney has made a big purchase like this. In fact, they purchased the rights to Shrek, which we reported on here.
Many experts think that this is a smart move by Disney. Labubu is one of the hottest toys on the market, and Disney is going to capitalize on it. In fact, there is even speculation of a Labubu ride coming to Hollywood Studios.
This would be a moderate thrill ride, according to plans that were just leaked. However, that has yet to be confirmed by anyone.
The risk in building a new ride is that the Labubu trend may be dead by the time it opens. Toys like this often fade fast, as we saw with fidget spinners.
