Disney World will start weighing people at the entrance. Then, according to your weight, you will be put into a weight class.

The weight classes will be noted by a colored wristband. Anyone 100 lbs or less will be required to wear a white wristband. People 100-200 lbs will have a blue wristband, 200-300 lbs a green wristband, 300-400 lbs a red wristband, and anyone over 400 lbs a black wristband.

These will then be used to help more evenly distribute the weight in the ride vehicles. The reason for this is to reduce the wear and tear on the Disney World rides.

For example, if a Space Mountain car is filled with six people, all weighing more than 400 lbs, the ride will experience more stress. Instead, Disney Cast Members are being trained to distribute riders evenly based on their weight to reduce this issue.

However, it’s worth noting that not all rides will use these weight wristbands. They will only be used on the rides that have the most issues when there is a weight imbalance. Many people are not happy with this idea and feel it’s an invasion of privacy.

Guests do not want to be weighed in front of people at Disney World and wear a wristband to denote their weight class. Many people see this as an overstep by Disney.
