Disney World is now requiring guests to pass a fitness test. This is a shocking announcement, but it actually makes a lot of sense.

According to an official statement, “In order to enter Disney World theme parks, guests will need to prove they are healthy and in shape. Anyone older than 10 years old will have to pass the robust fitness test. This test includes doing 15 push-ups, 15 curl-ups, and being able to walk or run half a mile in under 15 minutes.”

The reason Disney is adding this fitness test is that there has been an increase in health-related issues at the parks. There are too many unhealthy people, and Disney trips are more physically demanding than ever.

Guests are now required to visit a doctor or Disney-approved fitness coach who can administer this test. Once you pass, they will be able to enter a code to approve it in your My Disney Experience account, and you will be approved for the next five years.

It’s also worth noting that people with existing medical conditions can get a waiver from their doctor. They will be able to enter this into your My Disney Experience account as well, so you can still visit Disney World.

However, it’s worth noting that being overweight will not qualify you for a medical exemption. There is a list of medical conditions that are acceptable for the exemption, for those who have concerns.
