Disney World is now charging based on political affiliation. This means that the cost for Disney World tickets, hotels, food, drinks, and more varies based on what political party you are registered with.

For example, the baseline rate at Disney World will be reserved for registered independent voters. Meanwhile, registered democrats will receive a 20% price reduction for everything at Disney World. However, on the other hand, registered republicans will pay a 20% surcharge.

The price for children under 16 doesn’t change because they do not have a designated political affiliation. This comes shortly after President Trump implemented tariffs on Disney World, which we reported on here.

In order to do this, Disney will work with the US Government to get voting records and connect them to your profile in My Disney Experience. Then, when booking hotels, tickets, or buying food, your discount or surcharge will be applied.

As you might imagine, this is quite controversial. The democrats love that republicans are subsidising their discounts. However, the republicans are extremely angry about this and are suing for discrimination.

It’s also likely that President Trump will issue an executive order banning this. With that being said, many republicans have already boycotted Disney, so they’re hoping that this hurts them more than it helps them.

This is by far one of the most interesting decisions made by Disney and only time will tell if it’s successful.
