Disney World is now banning all Cast Member tattoos. This is because it’s considered unprofessional and has a negative impact on guest experience.

Up until 2021, Cast Members were not allowed to show tattoos, and they had to cover them up. However, in order to be more inclusive, Disney changed their policy and allowed tattoos to be shown.

Of course, they still need to be appropriate for families and kids. However, Disney has just changed the rule again and now bans all tattoos on Cast Members. Now, they will be required to cover up all tattoos, whether they are family-friendly or not.
Disney is also offering a free tattoo removal service if Cast Members would prefer that over covering them up. The other option is amputating the body parts with tattoos; however, Disney will not cover the cost of that.
As noted earlier, the idea behind allowing visible tattoos was to be more inclusive. However, that backfired on Disney because most people find it unprofessional and a distraction from the magic of Disney.
Because of this, they have reverted on their decision and are now banning all Cast Member tattoos. This policy will go into effect this summer, giving their employees time to find a solution to cover or remove their tattoos altogether.
As you might imagine, Cast Members are not happy about this. They feel it’s a slippery slope and there will be more restrictive measures put in place soon.
