Disney World is changing all ride audio to Spanish. That means everything on Disney rides like songs and characters talking will now be in Spanish.

This is to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment. In fact, 13% of Americans speak Spanish as their first language. Disney wants to do a better job of incorporating such an important aspect of American culture into their rides. For those that speak English and don’t speak Spanish, have no fear.

For only $15 per day, you can rent out a translation headset. These headsets use Bluetooth technology that connects to the ride you are on. Then, while you ride it, everything spoken in Spanish will be translated into English for you through the headset.

This is an effort by Disney to be more inclusive to those who only understand and speak English. Of course, people have differing opinions on this decision by Disney. One guest said, “While I don’t know any Spanish, it’s great to see Disney incorporating it into their parks and making it a focus. I will gladly pay the $15 to feel more inclusive.”

Meanwhile, other people are mad about this. A different guest chimed in and said “This is America, we speak English here. I am boycotting Disney once again.” We expect the Spanish ride audio to take over this summer.
