Disney World is adding parking meters to their parking lots. It will cost $5 per hour and guests be able to plug them for a maximum of four hours.

They will then need to return to the meters to plug them again. If parking enforcement sees an expired meter, you will have to pay a $200 parking ticket. To avoid a ticket, it’s best to keep it plugged during the day.

This is on top of the already existing parking fee at Disney World theme parks. The good news is Annual Passholders will only have to pay $4 per hour. However, they don’t get a discount if they get a parking ticket.
Disney is doing this to generate additional revenue. In fact, on average there are 25,000 cards parked at Disney each day.
If each car is there for 10 hours, that is $50 per car per day. That means Disney will make an additional $1,250,000 each day, which is an additional $465 million every year.
That is a massive increase in revenue by just adding parking meters. However, many guests are furious about this, much like the toll booths installed in the park, which we reported here.
They say that having to plug a parking meter every 4 hours is extremely inconvenient and nearly impossible. People suggest this is the worst decision Disney has made to make a few extra dollars.
