Disney World Adding Confederate Flags to Their Parks

Disney World is adding Confederate Flags to their parks. This is an effort to promote inclusion and diversity.

They will add the Confederate Flag to three locations across all of Disney World. This first is on Main Street USA, where the American Flag flies. However, they will not replace the American Flag like they did with the pride flag, which we reported on here.

Instead, the two flags will fly next to each other. The second flag will be located outside the Hall of Presidents, which makes sense because many of the early U.S. presidents supported the Confederacy.

Lastly, the third flag will be outside of the American Adventure Pavilion, which also makes sense. This is a place to showcase American history, and what better way to do that than to fly a Confederate Flag.

People are speculating that Disney is partially doing this to appeal to the blue-collar southern man. This is a demographic they struggle to reach for obvious reasons. They believe that flying a Confederate Flag might be enough to get them to visit Disney World.

Despite this, many people are not happy. They are ashamed of Disney for flying such a controversial flag and have plans to burn American Flags in protest.
