Disney is adding annual passholder lines to their rides. The goal of this is to have shorter wait times for their annual passholders.

How this will work is rather simple, but is creating some concern among guests. To enter this line, all you need to do is scan your MagicBand at the entrance of each ride.

Then you will be put into this special line with all of the other annual passholders. When it comes to loading the rides, Disney will switch between the annual passholder line, the normal line, and the Lightning Lane line.
The annual passholder and normal line will operate at a ratio of 1:1, which means for every passholder, Disney will let in a normal family. However, since there are generally fewer annual passholders in the parks at any given time, their line will move faster.
Of course, Disney will still operate the Lightning Lane per usual and will have a much higher ratio of those guests boarding the ride than the other lines. Overall, passholders love this idea as they often feel Disney doesn’t do enough to cater to them.
In fact, Disney is hoping that this increases the number of people who get an annual pass because they will want the shorter lines. However, if it increases the number of annual passholders too much, then that line will actually be longer, and the whole purpose will backfire. It will be interesting to see how this new queue system at Disney works, but people are hopeful.
