Breaking news, the NFL announces Wednesday Night Football in 2025. These games will be exclusively broadcast on Disney+.
On top of that, all of the games will be played on a neutral field at Disney World. This agreement is a win for both the NFL and Disney. The NFL will increase viewership by adding another night of football on Wednesdays.
Meanwhile, Disney wins by having the games played at Disney World and exclusive rights to broadcast them on Disney+. According to an internal source, Disney struggles to reach NFL fans. With this expansion of Wednesday Night Football, they expect to see a massive increase in Disney+ subscribers.
Also, there will be two broadcasts, the normal game, and an animated game. This will be similar to the Toy Story animated game last year, except each week it will be different. Disney will roll out heroes vs villains, Pixar vs Disney, and much more.
Meanwhile, Lin Manuel Miranda will write the new theme song for Wednesday Night Football. However, NFL players are not happy with this announcement. Forcing them to play teams on Wednesday gives them one less day of rest from Sunday games.
Thursday night games are already hard on players. Unfortunately, Disney and the NFL want the money and will debut Monday Night Football during the 2025 season.
